The Greatest Fictional Animals In Pop Culture History

This is probably the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to write. It’s also probably the most fun. I asked for the greatest fictional animal in pop culture and Twitter delivered so many names but sadly they can’t call make the cut.

Who does make the cut?

Here’s the criteria for making my list of the GOAT fictional animals:

  • Popularity(duh)
  • Longevity. To make the list, you must have existed for longer than one generation. There’s no set in stone definition for a generation, but I used 18 years – time it takes a baby to reach adulthood. Anything created in the 2000s doesn’t make this list(I’m sorry, Perry The Platypus fans)
  • Impact and influence
  • Personal bias[I will sneak some of my faves here. Write your own list.]

Remember that we are considering the characters and not necessarily the shows they were part of.

Let’s Get To It:

The list is curated in no particular order except for number one. When I considered all the metrics for this list, he came out top(even despite my personal bias against him):

Mickey Mouse

The face of Walt Disney. Nuff said. Popularity, longevity, impact & influence. No other fictional animal comes close[If you mention Hello Kitty I will fight you] For all intents & purposes: The GOAT fictional animal.

Here’s the rest of the list in no particular order:

  • Tom
  • Jerry
  • Scooby Doo
  • Bugs Bunny
  • Daffy Duck
  • Top Cat
  • Barney
  • Yogi
  • Simba
  • Timon and Pumbaa
  • Garfield
  • Snoopy
  • Hello Kitty
  • Droopy
  • The Warner Brothers, Wakko And Yakko; And Their Sister, Dot
  • The Brain
  • Pinky
  • Minnie Mouse
  • The Pink Panther
  • Mutley
  • Courage
  • CatDog
  • Cow
  • Chicken
  • Winnie The Pooh
  • Tweety
  • Wile E Coyote
  • The Roadrunner
  • Woody Woodpecker
  • Mojo Jojo
  • Spongebob Squarepants
  • Patrick Star
  • Hong Kong Phooey
  • Speedy Gonzalez
  • Alvin
  • Felix
  • Danger Mouse
  • Puss In Boots
  • Kermit
  • Elmo
  • Master Splinter
  • Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael & Michelangelo
  • Pikachu
  • Rocky & Bullwinkle
  • Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

That’s it for now. I know I’ve left out some of your faves. I will edit/update the post later. I am tired. I have tried. Thanks for reading. Shoot me any names you feel I may have missed.
